Human Hair Extensions FAQ  And  Human Hair Wigs FAQ

1. What method should I choose?

Choosing the right hair extensions and hair wig method might sometimes seem difficult, but it doesn’t have to be. Before you attach your hair extensions or wigs, however, it may be a good idea to think about what your everyday life looks and what the purpose of your hair extensions is. At Malaysia Hair Imports we offer a number of methods so you can choose the one that suits you best in your everyday life.
Do you want a going-out look, something different for a few weeks’ time, or maybe something permanent?
Do you exercise a lot, do you wear scarves or hats?
Depending on the look of your natural hair, we also recommend different methods and hair qualities.
Do you have thin hair, fine hair, coarse hair, thick hair?
Yes, the list can be long, but keep in mind that the most important thing is not to answer all the questions, the important thing is that you feel comfortable with your hair extensions, and by considering the choice of method and quality, you can find the right method for you.

Hair extensions with clips give you long hair in 5 minutes flat.

In our tape-on extension guide, you can read all about how to attach and care for your extensions with tape.

With a hair weft, you decide how to attach your hair extensions.

2. How long will my Malaysia hair Imports human hair extensions last?

The durability of our 100% human Remy virgin hair extensions. Permanent extensions can last up to 12 months and semi-permanent between 6 to 12 months.

With the On & Off method, their longevity depends greatly on how much they are used. Read more here about how long your extensions will last.

Your extensions and their attachment will last longer if you give a little TLC.

Following the care instructions for your product is a good idea. One great ritual is to try running your fingers through your hair once in the morning and once at night. When you go to bed, we recommend braiding your hair to make sure it stays tangle-free.
You should also do this when you exercise and when you think your hair may be affected by the weather. We also recommend that you check your permanent extensions within 5-7 weeks of putting them in.
By doing this you can avoid the risk of too much outgrowth, which can cause the extension to damage your hair. Detangling your hair with your fingers or recommended brushes on a regular basis also reduces the risk of knots in your hair and attachments.
The soft bristles of our recommended brushes are gentle and nourishing on your hair and extensions.
Chlorine and saltwater will always damage your hair, so we recommend using a swim cap when your hair may be exposed to these substances. Another tip is to braid your hair or put it up in a high bun to avoid contact with the water.

3. What color should I choose?

Choosing a color for your hair extensions can seem like a challenge. You may be unsure what color your natural hair really is, or you might be wondering what color actually suits you best.
At Malaysia Hair Imports we’ve tried to make the choice as easy as possible for you. We offer a large selection of different custom colors, lengths, and qualities. If you look through the color chart on our website, we hope that you will find the color that is most similar to your own. If you are still unsure, you can buy, or borrow, our color ring.

It features all of our colors, labeled and easy to remove to compare to your hair. Depending on your natural shade, sometimes you may need a few different colors and shades to get as natural a result as possible. This is also an option if you want to achieve color effects like highlights.

Because all our hair extensions are already color-treated and have their unique history, we do not recommend, and cannot take responsibility for, changes in the original color of products that we have not tested and cannot recommend.

If you are still uncertain, you can also take a picture of your original color and email it to our sales@malaysiahair-staging.qbkbmaag-liquidwebsites.com. They will give advice and assistance in finding the hair color that is perfect for you!

4. What are the best products to use to care for my hair extensions?

To make sure your natural hair and your extensions maintain their qualities it is important to add both nutrition and moisture. Because hair extensions do not have their own follicles and always lie slightly away from the scalp, they do not share the same natural oils as your natural hair.
This makes them even more dependent on added moisture and oils to keep from getting dry and coarse. A dry climate, like that of Scandinavia and some parts of Europe, also makes the hair drier, especially during the winter months. The two most important products for giving your natural hair and your extensions the care and moisture they need are shampoo and conditioner.
Shampoo gives your hair both nutrition and moisture while conditioner seals the hair strand. Using a hair mask 1-2 times a week is also a great way to give your hair that extra moisture boost. The hair mask, however, does not replace the effect of your conditioner, so always end with conditioner.
There are many different options available on the market for hair care products. For those with hair extensions, we recommend Rapunzel’s own hair care series. It’s formulated for use with hair extensions while maintaining the beauty of your natural hair. Plus it smells fantastic! If you choose other options, you may want to consider the two main ingredients or consult your hairdresser.

5. Will hair extensions damage my hair?

Hair extensions will not damage your hair. However, hair with hair extensions requires more care than usual. We recommend daily care, along with a little extra care on a weekly basis.
We also recommend that you thoroughly inspect your attachments every five to seven weeks, both in order to enable you to enjoy your long hair as long as possible, but also to avoid tangled attachments and unnecessary wear on both the extensions and your natural hair.
We also recommend that you use a good hair product that is specially formulated for hair with extensions. They are designed to be gentle to both your extensions and your natural hair.
The products contain a large amount of moisture and nutrition, which hair extensions are particularly in need of, and especially if you live in a dry climate. It is also important that you attach and remove your hair extensions properly.

6. Can I do my hair extensions myself?

Depending on which method you choose to use to attach your extensions, the difficulty will vary. However, no is so advanced that it can’t be attached at home.

A Clip-on set allows you to easily do your own attachment, but it may be helpful to have a friend helpful when inserting heat-set products like Nail Hair. Attaching pieces using other methods is not difficult at all, but may require two extra hands, especially at the back of the neck.

7. How long does my hair have to be?

In order to make make sure your extensions transition nicely from your normal hair, we recommend that you have at least ten centimeters of natural hair. If you already have long hair, don’t despair. Hair extensions will give your hair new life. If you’re not looking for length, you may want thickness or maybe color. Attaching colored streaks for a while can also liven up your hair.

8. Can I pull my hair extensions off?

Everybody can wear hair extensions, but keep in mind that hair extensions require more care than normal hair. However, this care is no more advanced than the care you should use on your natural hair to get the best results. Keep in mind that by taking care of your extensions, you’re also taking care of your natural hair. A winning idea.

9. How much can hair extensions cost?

Depending on the hair extension quality you choose, the price will vary. It may be a good idea to be thoughtful about what quality to choose when attaching your extensions.

The slightly more expensive premium hair costs more, but if you know that you will be using extensions, again and again, that hair can be reused.

The quality of premium hair is also better, which means that it will last longer. If you go for Original hair instead, you’ll get a more affordable price point with a slightly shorter life span than Premium hair – it’s all a balance.

10. What’s the best way to shower with extensions?

Whether you have hair extensions or not, there are some things that you should avoid exposing your hair too. It’s a good idea to comb through your hair before you shower.

Never brush damp or wet hair. Wet hairs are much weaker than dry ones, and brushing wet hair increases the risk of hair fallout.

When shampooing your hair, you can massage the shampoo and cleanse the roots, then let it flow through the tips when rinsing. This will help you avoid unnecessary wear on your ends while still ensuring clean, fresh hair. Just as with your natural hair, you should also avoid using conditioner near your scalp. This weighs your hair down and closes off the pores on the scalp, which can cause hair loss, fungus formation, and an oily scalp.

This is also not advised when you have hair extensions in, as it may cause your extensions to become slippery, which makes the attachments slide off the hair. Instead, apply conditioner on your ends and rinse; no rubbing is necessary to make sure it is working.

Then apply for heat protection and let your hair air-dry or use a hairdryer on a low heat setting. Avoid rubbing your hair, and instead, squeeze out of the water with a towel.  Rubbing your hair wears on the outer layers, which can result in dull hair. When the hair is completely dry, comb, brush, and style to get your desired look and results.

When using tape-on extensions, you will need to wait at least 48 hours before you shower to give the tape time to cure, which also gives you more long-lasting results.

When using our other methods, we recommend that you wait at least 48 hours before you shower so your attachments can harden and your scalp can rest. Wet hair weighs more than dry hair, meaning greater strain on your scalp.

Human Hair Wigs

Malaysia Hair Imports Human hair wigs offer the most natural look and feel as well as styling versatility. While typically more expensive, with proper care, human hair can last over a year.

What are the different types of wig caps?

Constant innovation in technology allows for increasingly wearable and comfortable wigs. The base of any wig is referred to as a cap. The hair is attached to the wig cap using a variety of techniques to achieve different looks. On most wigs, hair is attached in ‘wefts’.

These are strips of hair doubled over and sewn closely together in long strands. Others are hand-tied for the most natural movement. If you like to wear your hair swept away from your face, lace front wigs are the best option. If you like parting versatility, we recommend full monofilament wigs.

The 100% hand-tied and double monofilament wigs are known for being gentle on sensitive scalps.

How do I know my wig size?

Many wigs come in petite, average, and large sizes. Average size wigs, however, tend to fit about 95% of people. If you are unsure of how to measure your head size, contact us and we can guide you through the process.

How do I choose the color of my human hair wigs?

We aim to make purchasing the right color online just as easy as in our salon (or easier)! Once you have found a style you like, it is time to select a color option. If you are new to wigs, consider staying close to your natural color (you can always have fun experimenting with color later).

At Malaysia Hair Imports Wigs, we capture our color photo images in an extremely controlled studio environment making them the most consistently accurate available. You can also order color rings or make use of our expert color consultation services by submitting a photo or a hair swatch.

Are color swatches accurate?

Hair color images are presented to give you a visual representation of color options for each item. However, it must be noted that on screen representations do not necessarily precisely represent actual colors due to variable computer monitor calibrations.

Additionally, the computer or device you use may have an impact on how the colors appear. For example, Apple computer devices tend to make colors appear slightly warmer.

How do I put on a human hair wig?

After removing your wig from the box, take off the protective hairnet ( If it requires customization (such as trimming a lace front), we recommend you consult a wig specialist or visit our salon.

If you have a lot of your own hair, the first step is to gather it back and up. One great trick is to separate the hair into two sections on each side of your head. Twist the hair as you pull it back and around the head so that it will eventually lay flat.

This tactic can help avoid a ponytail bulge. You may choose to use pins, braids, wig caps (recommended), or a great product called Sure Grip to secure your hair. A wig cap can be helpful even without hair to keep wigs secure and in place.

Hold your wig at the sides (ear tabs) and starting at the front, place it at your natural hairline. Slide it on toward the nape of your neck and shift as needed using the ear tabs to help center your wig.

Adjustable straps at the nape may help to achieve a more secure fit. If handling a lace front wig, take care not to tug on the lace as it can be a bit delicate.

Don’t worry if it doesn’t look perfect right away, start styling!

Any tips on making wigs appear more natural?

Human hair wigs tend to offer the most natural look, but today synthetic wigs can also look very natural as well thanks to great innovations in wig technology. Styles with a lace front and monofilament features or those that are 100% hand-tied will also appear very natural.

When it comes to choosing a style, consider styles that will be most flattering given your face shape. As for color, it is often wise to stick close to your own natural hair color.

Which wigs are better for sensitive scalps?

100% hand-tied or double monofilament wigs tend to be the most gentle on sensitive scalps. Some people use wig caps to protect the scalp. In our wig accessories, the Sure-Grip product is a hypoallergenic comfort liner designed to add cushion – particularly at pressure points to improve both fit and comfort.

What if my head sweats a lot?

Not to worry! Our wigs are light and durable

How do I care for my wig?

Wigs come with instructions from the manufacturer that should be followed. When not in use, store your wig on a mannequin or wig stand to maintain its shape and wash only when necessary – roughly once every 7 days of wear but more often if your lifestyle or environment calls for it.

Should I own more than one wig?

Yes! First the practical reasons. Wigs can last longer if not worn daily. You can be washing and air drying one while wearing the other.

If you wear human hair, you can keep one styled straight and the other curly to reduce stress.

Can I curl or straighten my wig?

Consider human hair wigs for the ultimate styling versatility as you can curl or straighten them as you would your own hair.

Can I color my wig?

Most wigs offer a variety of colors to choose from, lessening the need to color them. While synthetic hair cannot be dyed, human hair wigs can. But it is a tricky process that should be handled by a hair professional only.

We recommend only going darker, not lighter as there is a lot of chemical processing involved in the making of a wig and any additional manipulation can cause damage.

What is the best way to store a wig?

A wig stand or mannequin head is ideal. It will help keep the hair from becoming tangled and will help to maintain the shape. Also, see if you can find a cool, dry spot to keep wigs in their best condition.

Can I swim or shower with my wig?

We do not recommend this. It can put too much stress on the hair and create unmanageable tangles. Also, pool chemicals and salt can damage and dry out the hair as well as affecting the color.

What are the different types of wig attachments?

There are a lot of different kinds of wigs and there are many different methods of attachment to help secure the hair in places such as tapes, pins, clips, wraps, and combs. The choice is ultimately up to the individual and depends on each person’s situation and preference.

What are some ways to tackle thinning hair?

If you are thinning on top, at the crown or at the hairline, you may choose to wear a hairpiece or topper / top piece in lieu of a full wig. Many wigs blend in so naturally with your own hair, even experts are hard-pressed to see them when in place. They are also a great option if you want to conceal grey or new hair growth between color touch-ups.

Hair Extensions with Cambodian Hair Quality Hair – Perfect Hair Everyday!

Cambodian Hair is a common raw material for a high-quality hair extension. However, the processing of this hair is less time-consuming than that of Indian hair.

Since Asian hair is more similar to the European hair structure, the hair does not need to be thinned. The attached hair extensions will look natural even without this step.

Cambodian human hair can be bleached and subsequently dyed in different shades of color.

Hair Extensions with Malaysian  Human

Malaysian Hair is a valuable raw material for a high-quality hair extension. The processing of this hair is less time-consuming than that of Indian and Chinese hair.

Since Asian hair is more similar to the European hair structure meaning the hair does not need to be thinned.

Hair Extensions with Burmese Human Hair

Burmese is similar to Indian hair in its characteristics. This hair also does not have to be thinned out before making the hair extensions.

However, since Americas  and Europeans have the same lineage, Burmese hair is even more similar to European hair than Indian hair is.

Micro link/Micro bead/Micro-ring/Loop Hair Extensions

This type of human hair extensions is applied by looping the single-strand micro-bead extensions through your own hair and clamping down with a pair of pliers and a metal bead to finish. So pretty much, your entire head is covered in these little beads. You need to go to a professional for the application of micro-bead hair extensions.

Sewn-in/Weave Hair Extensions

Sewn-in weave hair extensions are those who have super thick, coarse, or naturally super curly hair. Your own hair is braided tightly into corn rows throughout your entire head, and the extensions are then attached using a needle and a thread.

A pro about these hair extensions is that they work super well for girls who have tons of hair that is thick and a coarse, however, a con is that the tight braids seriously strain your scalp, therefore they are not advisable for those who have thin hair.

Also consider hygienic reasons – it may be difficult to wash and condition  the scalp because the entire scalp is covered in cornrows. You need to go to a professional for the application of sewn-in hair extensions as well as consistently visit the salon (even six weeks or so) to ensure that the extensions are still sewn in correctly into place and if the braids need to be tightened up again.

Clip-in Hair Extensions

Clip-in hair extensions is the fastest, easiest, and least damaging type of hair extensions which you can apply all by yourself without having to go to a professional. Clip-in hair extensions are a temporary method of hair extensions, which means you can clip them in and out whenever you want.

Clip-in hair extensions are ideal if you are looking to add length and volume to your hair without the commitment or breaking the bank. Clip-in hair extensions are a popular choice among women all over the world for bridal and bridesmaids’ hairstyles as they can greatly enhance any hairstyle.

You need to take off your clip-in hair extensions when you shower, sleep, or swim, however, clipping them in takes only about 5 minutes. Always choose real remy human hair extensions as you will be able to heat style and wash them just like your own hair.

High-quality clip-in hair extensions will last you anywhere from 3-6 months up to a year or even longer, depending on how often you wear them and how well you take care of them. Malaysia Hair Imports raw human hair extensions are all high quality 100% real remy human clip-in hair extensions.

Tape-in Hair Extensions

Tape in the method of hair extensions involves taking each weft and literally taping them onto your own hair. The wefts are connected by wide bonds of tape and your own hair is placed between them and clamped around the strands.

Pros to this method of hair extensions is if you wear your hair extensions without a break, these can last in your hair for 6-12 weeks. Some cons to tape in hair extensions are that it can be difficult to tie your hair up how you want it since you can’t reposition the wefts after they are applied, and they can also begin tangling with your own hair as it starts growing out. You need to go to a professional for the application of tape in hair extensions.

Glue-in/Keratin Bond/Pre-bonded Hair Extensions

These hair extensions are attached to the hair with keratin bonds that are on top of the extensions, which are fused with a hot tool. This technique requires heat for application, and consistent visits to the salon to maintain them.

They can look great; however, it is best to not using oils, conditioners or any hot styling tools because this can weaken the bonds and make the extensions come out.

Raw Virgin Hair is human hair that is in its natural state. No chemical changes, no color, has not been processed, and all cuticles are intact. All hair sold by Malaysia Hair Imports is Raw virgin hair.

Your Cambodian, Malaysian, Burmese hair extensions and wigs should be measured to the fall of the hair. Start 0 at the weft or top of wig cap and measure to the ends of the bundle. The Cambodian and Burmese Wavy, Cambodian Body Wave, Burmese Curly, and Kinky Curly hair extensions and wigs must be measured by pulling the hair straight. Again, start 0 at the weft; pull the hair straight from the ends, and the length will be at the tips of the hair.

Each bundle will not measure exact when it is still wrapped in its band, as tension can affect the fall of each strand.

Your new hair from Malaysia Hair Imports 100% Human Raw Virgin hair extensions can be styled like your own hair. You are able to use a thermal (hot) tool to straighten, curl, crimp, etc. Keep in mind the hair does not have all the nutrients that a strand growing from your scalp will.

Heat damage can cause breakage and dryness. Therefore, it is imperative that you use a heat-protecting product, always co-wash your hair, and protect it during sleep hours.

Any chemical processes should be done by a professional or at least consulted by one. This purchase is an investment for you and chemically altering the hair can possibly damage it. Although our Raw Virgin hair extensions can handle a coloring process very well, please be cautious.

Once the hair is chemically-altered incorrectly, the cuticle can become damaged and overexposed, causing fraying, breakage, dryness, and tangling. This in turn will affect the overall look and feel of your hair. Chemical damage has no reverse button, and we will not be held liable for any damages.

Minimally, no hair is absolutely perfect. We have reinforced machine wefting, to minimize shedding to nearly none. You may see a few strands here or there while detangling or styling, but nothing troubling or excessive. The most effective way to avoid shedding is by sealing the wefts.

Our 100% Human Hair Extensions and Wigs can last through multiple installs. However, the lifetime of your extensions depends heavily on how they are cared for. On average our customers can use their extensions from 6 to 8 months if cared for properly. Learn more about Caring for your Raw Virgin Cambodian, Malaysian and Burmese Hair Extensions

Co-washing simply means washing with conditioner. It is a key task in extending the life of your extensions and keeping them healthy. We recommend a co-wash once a week with moisturizing conditioner to ensure your hair gets the nutrients and moisture it needs.

When you first receive your extensions, it is important to co-wash the hair, as it has been through Malaysia Hair Imports is a direct factory manufacturers’  that hands, packaging, etc.

Shampooing the hair can strip the hair entirely too much of its moisture. Always use WARM water, as hot water will overexpose the cuticle of the hair.

All virgin hair reacts differently to product and regimens. Please be mindful to stay away from ingredients that can strip your extensions of moisture such as parabens, sulfate, and silicone. These products usually tend to have a high alcohol content which dehydrates the hair follicle of its nutrients.

Heavy oils are also not necessary to care for your extensions as it can weigh down your hair pattern. By rule of thumb, we recommend co-washing your bundles weekly and shampooing bi-weekly to rid your bundles of any excess product. Deep conditioning can be done as needed.

With no two heads being alike, our customers have a variety of experience with different textures as well as their daily maintenance of their extensions. Over the years we have collected knowledge regarding what works best.

Our customers highly suggest product lines such as Crème of Nature, Carol’s Daughter, Cantu, As I Am, and more. Even though our customers suggest these products, your extensions may not respond in the same manner.

The key to determining how many bundles to purchase depends on the lengths you are wanting. As all bundles are the same weight (3.3oz), the longer bundles have shorter wefts, and the shorter bundles have longer wefts. For a full sew-in, we recommend 3-4 bundles of hair. For lengths over 18”, we recommend ordering 4-5 bundles of hair.

If you desire an install with a lot of volume, you will need 4-5 bundles or 4 bundles with a closure. A closure is a great addition to your install, as you will have no leave-out. This is considered a full protective style, and none of your hair will be exposed.

We have a standard 24-48 hour processing time prior to the shipment of 5-7 business days all orders. This processing timeframe is subject to change due to sales or holidays. Please review our shipping methods to receive an estimated timeframe of received your package.
