Hair Loss

Many people are alarmed to see dozens of hairs stuck when they examine their hairbrushes or the shower drain, but most adults will shed approximately 80 – 100 hairs a day from their head, whether or not they are experiencing male pattern baldness or female pattern baldness. This is because our hair grows in cycles, called the anagen, catagen and telogen phases. Each anagen cycle lasts between four and seven years and at the end of the cycle, the hair falls out and is replaced by a new hair that begins the phases all over again. Mens Hair Wigs

By age 50 nearly 85% of men experience some thinning, a bald crown or receding temples, some to the point of complete baldness. In women, by age 60 approximately 50% will experience female pattern baldness. Millions of more women struggle with mild to moderate hair thinning due to hormonal changes of pregnancy and menopause, and other health conditions but since men are also suffering, the industry has started to pay more attention to creating natural-looking wigs for men. In general, there is no shortage of choice for woman’s wigs and men have generally been stuck with poor quality fake-looking wigs until now. Mens Hair Wigs

Be Wig Wise

Our hair is our best accessory. It can make or break our look. Hair has been associated with beauty and power. That is why a bad hair day brings our spirits down. A hair cut or a different hairstyle can greatly alter the way we look. A simple thing like wearing your hair differently can give you the appeal of a makeover. You feel more confident. Mens Hair Wigs

Hair is thus a very important aspect of our personality. It also expresses how the person is feeling. If your hair is tied back or if you let it loose, these actions convey different meanings. It has symbolic properties. It is object that conveys established order or a refusal to follow that order. Mens Hair Wigs

Thus it is a horrible feeling to have to lose your hair, be it due to some genetic or medical condition or due to any other reasons.

So to escape this feeling, the easy alternative is mens hair wigs.

Here is some trivia about wigs:

  • The ancient Egyptians used wigs as protection from the rays of the sun and also to easily bifurcate and identify people according to their social class and positions
  • Wigs were popular with the Romans, Greeks, and Assyrians as an object of everyday use
  • In some countries they were worn by both men and women whereas in others, they were used only by woman
  • In some cultures wigs were used only in theatre and performances, to depict different characters by the performing actors and artists.

Wigs and Hair pieces are less invasive and have absolutely no side effects. They are more affordable in terms of cost as compared to any other hair treatments. They also require minimum attention and following simple steps for maintenance. A lot of varieties are available in the market to cater to every want and whim of the consumers. They also come in a variety of colors and styles.

Types of wigs and hairpieces

Based on the use of hair, wigs can be classified into these three distinct types:

  • Human Hair Wig – These types of wigs are made from human hair. They are the most natural looking wigs, the closest one can get to the real thing; so much so that many a times to the untrained eye, it is difficult to ascertain if it is indeed a wig. These are more expensive. Based on hair types Human hair wigs can be classified further into these types. These are

While the Indian Hair is more popular amongst consumers due to its texture and strength, the European wig is the most expensive of the lot. The European wigs are also a little rare.

  • Animal Hair Wig – As the name suggests these wigs and hairpieces use animal hair generally from a goat or a yak.
  • Synthetic Hair Wig – A synthetic hair wig is manufactured with fibers. These fibers are extremely similar to real human hair. These wigs are highly economic and low maintenance.

Depending upon the weft and the method by which hair is secured together in a wig, wigs can be classified as:

  • Machine stitched weft wig – These types of wigs and hair pieces are made by stitching together hair strands by using a hair sewing machine. There are two sub classifications in these,
  • Double wefting: This is a regular weft.
  • Single wefting: This is relatively new. It is also called as a light weft or a thin weft.

These are the major classifications of wigs. There are other types of wigs and hair pieces too. Some of them are listed below

  • Medical wigs

Medical wigs are mainly manufactured for people who lose hair due to some medical condition like chemotherapy or alopecia and so on. They are more suitable for such patients

These give an appearance of a natural hairline. They are popular amongst celebrities and fashionistas. Individual strands are knotted along the mesh, generally of a polyester or nylon material in the frontal area of the hair piece thus creating an illusion of hair growing naturally from the scalp. These have become extremely popular in the 21st Century. There are many varieties available like:

  • Swiss lace
  • French Lace
  • Thin Skin
  • Stretch lace and so on.

Each of them differs from the other in a singular aspect like Stretch lace is easy to detect whereas Swiss lace is extremely undetectable when used.

These are half wigs or hair pieces. They are secured using skin adhesives. The important thing to remember is to use skin friendly or skin safe adhesives to secure these lace frontals in place

  • Monofilament Wigs

These types of wigs are slightly less expensive. A monofilament is sewn in the wig. This is generally sewn in only one part of the head in a monofilament part wig, depending on the choice of the consumer, left, centre or right. Once sewn the position of the monofilament cannot be changed. They too give the illusion of hair naturally emerging out of the wearer’s scalp.

  • PU Skin weft

This is specifically for those people who have a very sensitive scalp. People with a sensitive scalp find the cloth-based wefts itchy and uncomfortable. Thus they substitute it for polyurethane. Polyurethane or PU is a material which is used as a base and this material is highly agreeable to people with sensitive scalps.

Virgin Hair is hair that is in its natural state. No chemical changes, no color, has not been processed, and all cuticles* are intact.

Remy hair is considered to be the finest quality of human hair. The term “Remy” means all the hair cuticles are healthy, intact, and flow in the same direction from the root to the tip. The cuticle is the outer layer of the hair strand and the structure is similar to the overlapping of shingles on a rooftop. Remy hair is typically collected directly from a woman’s head, and as it is cut it is held in a ponytail to ensure no hair strands fall to the floor. Remy hair will also last longer than non-Remy hair. Therefore, it can be reused, flat ironed, and colored.

Each texture must be measured differently. The Braziilian hair extensions should be measured to the fall of the hair. Start 0 at the weft and measure to the ends of the bundle. The Brazilian Wavy and Brazilian Curly hair extensions must be measured by pulling the hair straight. Again, start 0 at the weft; pull the hair straight from the ends, and the length will be at the tips of the hair. Each bundle will not measure exact when it is still wrapped in its band, as tension can affect the fall of each strand.

Your new Hairutopia virgin hair extensions can be treated as if it is your own hair. You are able to use a thermal (hot) tool to straighten, curl, crimp, etc. Keep in mind the hair does not have all the nutrients that a strand growing from your scalp will. Heat damage can cause breakage and dryness. Therefore, it is imperative that you use a heat-protecting product, always co-wash your hair, and protect it during sleep hours.

Any chemical processes should be done by a professional or at least consulted by one. This purchase is an investment for you and chemically altering the hair can possibly damage it. Though, our virgin hair extensions can handle a coloring process very well, please be cautious. Once the hair is chemically altered incorrectly, the cuticle can become damaged and overexposed causing fraying, breakage, dryness, and tangling. This in turn will affect the overall look and feel of your hair. Chemical damage has no reverse button.

Minimally, no hair is absolutely perfect (Any company who states this phrase, as sales pitch is not being honest. Our company is an honest supplier). We have reinforced machine wefting, to minimize shedding to nearly none. You may see a few strands here or there, but nothing troubling. The most effective way to avoid shedding is by sealing the wefts.

Co-washing simply means conditioner washing. It is a key task in extending the life of your extensions and keeping them healthy. We recommend a co-wash once a week with moisturizing conditioner to ensure your hair gets the nutrients and moisture it needs. When you first receive your extensions it is important to co-wash the hair as it has been through HHC employee hands, manufacturers’ hands, packaging, etc. Shampooing the hair can strip the hair entirely too much. Always use WARM water, as hot water will overexpose the cuticle of the hair. Mens Hair Wigs

The key to determining how many bundles to purchase depends on the lengths you are wanting. The longer bundles have a shorter weft/track as the shorter bundles have longer wefts/tracks.

The amount of hair you will need will depend on how full you would like your hair and the length you desire. Here is a general rule we use: Mens Hair Wigs

12″ – 14″  2 Bundles

16″ – 22″  3 Bundles

24″ – 30″  4-5 Bundles
